Want to build your first Android app? Join me as we build a grocery delivery app using Android Studio 3.6 and Kotlin. My 2020 edition tutorial series is still relevant but slightly outdated since Google updated Android Studio to use nav components and fragments for a basic setup. So I decided to start over.
Never created an app before? Watch and learn.
In this tutorial we’ll download and install the software we need, setup an emulator and run the default app. After that we’ll get started creating our UI, first an ImageView then using ConstraintLayout to reposition elements in our app.
Virtually all Android apps are created using Android Studio and increasingly more and more apps are built entirely in Kotlin. All apps I’ve built for the past two years have been in Kotlin and I don’t miss the previous language.
This grocery delivery app will be entirely native and by the end will be ready to deploy to Google Play.

How is it on Chrome OS, isn’t Chrome OS limited to android apps and chrome, I thought you couldn’t download any executable files or anything, I guess it’s just Linux but I thought it was locked down

Hi! Beginner here, and was wondering is Kotlin completely different from Java?
next video try to cut the crap actually and get straight to the actual content
Awesome video!! thank you for uploading this
wow this was easier than i thought
Hey Daniel ! Is it required to know Java for using Android Studio ?
DUDE, you make me soooooo much confused and I have to undo too much stuff please edit and cut it if you do wrong…
Thank you for this , It was really helpful ✨✨
Nice Job Man! I prefer your real life format instead of a professor talking from a book or someone reading a "step by step" notes. I just wish there was a way to pause the video to take notes. I have a Surface Book 2 and Android Suite froze on me 3 times. So…I finally pulled the company's MacPro out. I had ZERO problems! I am a PC guy! I can't believe that I am using an Apple and giving it a compliment! Hahaha. Question: Is there a way to move an Apple Project to PC? I will be changing my Surface for an upgraded Laptop and then I would like to move it to the PC. Have you tried that before?
And now (somewhat) outdated again. But I am learning even from the older videos so please continue!
Jumping in from the 2020 series…cliffhanger on the recycler view so hopefully it's in this series soon?🙃
