The mobile space is full of profound juxtapositions this week as Apple can’t make enough iPhones to meet demand, while BlackBerry can’t keep its head above water long enough to sell existing stock. Meanwhile, Microsoft announces its second round of Surface products, while soon to be-acquired hardware maker Nokia (allegedly) prepares its own Windows tablet – and the horrible marriage of smartphone maker HTC and audio baron Beats finally, mercifully, dissolves.

That’s the big news for the week ending September 27, 2013, and all of it -plus iOS 7 literally making people sick- awaits you in the ninety minutes ahead on episode 063 of the Pocketnow Weekly podcast. So take your seasickness pills and get your rain gear on: Michael, Stephen, and Taylor are waiting to take you into the rough waters of corporate fortune and failure, where the vertigo is gonna grow ’cause it’s so dangerous you’ll have to sign a waiver. 1. MICHAEL, DO YOU THINK THAT MAYBE THE REASON WHY YOU FEEL THE PHONE ITS SO BIG RIGHT NOW ITS BECAUSE YOU WERE USING THE IPHONE BEFORE THIS ONE? I REMEMBER WHEN I BOUGHT THE HTC ONE, I COMPARED IT TO MY PREVIOUS IPHONE 4S AND IT FELT ENORMOUS FOR THE FIRST WEEK, BUT EVENTUALLY YOU START ADJUSTING.

  2. Aloha Mike, I'm a retired Airline Pilot, now Coffee Farmer in Kona HI. I advise 100's of Airline folks about cell phones, which really reaches out to 1000's around the world, and rely on you guys for the straight poop. My Note 2 wasn't laggy when new, but since, with 100's of apps, it is. Note 3 (Snapdraggon) with 3 gigs shouldn't have that problem. Also, I don't mind all the Touchwiz on Note phones as it's necessary to run all the coordinated Pen S/W. Note phones are hand held computers.

  3. Its comical to hear you guys debate stock, exchange and strategy lol. Thanks to the advice of Taylor BB is exiting the consumer segment! The reason why many are optimistic about BB's future is soon the company will no longer be listed on any stock exchange, therefore the company will not be subjected to analysts and consumers expectations. The company can build itself backup away from the stop light and away from all negativity as they do not have to report anything.

  4. Once nexus 5 is out, I'd like to see a round table of what you guys think is the best phone of the year. And pls don't let the price be a factor in the decision.

  5. I want a surface pro 2 for my last year of high school purely because we are getting wireless very soon and i can't be bothered carrying around a heavy laptop.

  6. Im 15, and thanks to you guys I've become the mobile tech wiz of my year….. everyone comes to me for advice Haha – doing my best to get uz more subscribers 😀 keep it up guys !!!!!!! the vids are beast

  7. Surface 2 on college definitely from desk to desk and good battery life and office and extremely portable not so expensive .And the build quality. Waiting your review and then buy it 😉

  8. Wow, Other reviewers disagree with you Michael, saying the new Note 3 is less comfortable in the hand. . .
I tried the Note 2 for a while and wished it was lighter.
Also, do you have the White version?
The Black is a softer material on the back . . . ( I wonder if ppl might try swapping the covers if they are made available . .)

  9. As an android enthusiast I believe Apples best option for the nausea issue would be to add a way in settings to turn all animations off or to release a second version of iOS 7 with iOS 6 animations

  10. I attend Northern Michigan University, and each student is provided a laptop. Art students are given MacBookPros and all others are given a ThinkPad. Current freshmen were given the twist laptop that turns into a tablet of sorts with Windows 8 installed. The response was it was helpful initially, but most students haven't really cared for Windows 8.
