If there’s one reason to buy the LG V40, LG’s latest flagship, it’s ALL about its 5 cameras, the most cameras on a smartphone to date until Samsung copies and launches the Galaxy S10 next year. With 3 dedicated rear cameras and 2 front cameras, the LG V40 can give you more camera angles from a single smartphone than any other smartphone on the market. In this review, I really wanted to focus on its 5 cameras, since the LG V40 is really about the cameras along with its hidden advanced features w/ its manual mode you probably will never use unless you watch this video. 1. You missed the game fps and resolution auto change, game break, eq your boombox, movable and addable nav bar, awesome keybaord, you can use a mic and headphones at the same time with the camera, super aggressive earpeice noise reduction, phone call synced vibrating, no animations, and uses asap launcher with moonshine

  2. Hey Max, Great review on advanced features and manual settings. What about call quality, I had a V20 but the call quality was nowhere near as good as my older G4….very tinny call quality in comparison, is the V40 a match for a G4 for making regular calls, important in my job as I am speaking to clients, thanks

  3. do these lg have the shrink screen option like the v20 had. by sliding your finger across the bottom 3 control touch buttons? to make the screen smaller? and also the dual screen option?

  4. I had a galaxy S9 and gave it to my grandma when she needed an upgrade and got this, despite the five lenses I would say there's definitely other phone for the same price with better cameras but the phone is damn good and has plenty of features and a constantly decreasing price after release date that should definitely make you consider it

  5. The entire video is awe-inspiring but the following comment that you also made available as text is especially valuable:

"You can use the camera in manual mode with auto settings but this will give you the extra ability to take photos in RAW. For those of you who know a little bit about editing RAW photos with Photoshop, you will be able to take full advantage of LG V40’s camera. It’s actually not that hard for basic photo processing, you can just use Photoshop and usually just bring up the saturation all the way along with adjustment for highlights and shadows. Simply doing this and comparing with photos in auto mode proves edited RAW photos are much better.

There are also numerous apps you can use to accomplish the same thing, I should have a tutorial on that soon, make sure to subscribe to my channel so you will get notifications when I upload it.

Question #1: Did you upload that tutorial already? If you did, I will gladly subscribe.
Question #2: What is that device with the two handles on top of the tripod that you are using to encase the LG V40? Thank you.

  6. I have the v20, which has a 135° wide angle camera and recently bought the v40 and it's wide camera is somewhat semi wide (only 107°) compared to it's predecessor.

  7. v40 thinQ is great. if youre looking to buy a new expensive iphone or samsung.. dont. buy this one used instead for 150-200ish. highly recommended. if youre rich go buy a new expensive phone.

  8. The locked boot loader really is a problem. I'm still on the V20, and I'm looking at other LG phones all the ones for T-Mo are unlockable for now. And root is a a hassle when possible, I like disabling or removing pretty much everything I don't use, including some google and social media bloatware.

  9. Great job! You speak my language on manual audio level adjustment on the camera part of the phone. As far as I'm concerned, your the first to talk camera phone audio! I stumbled upon this phone yesterday in my local Verizon store and the sales staff were so freaked out and totally sold on the upcoming s20 phones claiming this phone not anywhere near as good as the s20.
I gave Samsung headquarters a lecture from hell and canceled my order for the s20 and ordered the v40.
And out of THOUSANDS of YouTube videos, that was mentioned was the broken record of the 108 mega pixels and 100x space zoom. NOTHING anywhere about audio.
Great pictures need great audio as BOSE says!

  10. I had a crappy samsung s5 neo till he died. Never used my phone a lot like others. But I needed a new one, for Whatsapp and I like playing with the camera. And playing games.

I researched alot, maybe 15+ hours of reading about the new phone these days. I really liked the lgv40, But a lot of websites where shitting on it. So it was very difficult for me, I now pay 37 euro for unlimited MB/Minutes/SMS for the LG V40. Tomorrow I will get my Phone! And just like this guy, I like the freedom in settings and features. I hate a perfect one click dummy photo. I like to explore and be creative.

Making video's and stuff. Also the screen for movies. I don't listen to music a lot, but watching the series with headphone is perfect I heard.

Battery life maybe sucks compared to others much more expensive(!) flagships. But I came from nothing. I've bought this phone for 288 EURO now. and I think that's a very good deal. All new.

I like the positive clips on YouTube about the lgv40, there is a lot of negativity, but I think LG needs better marketing, Smart adds, payed youtubers. Like samsung have.

I will enjoy this phone for sure, no doubt, can't wait till tomorrow. thanks guys!

  11. I'd like to point out the fact that the screen is drop and damage resistant by using Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5 on both the front and back of the device. This a BIG feature, too huge to just skip over. Thanks for the video.

  12. Hi Max
great video and review, one of the best
Ive been experimenting with manual video recently and ive found when i use hdr10, it seems to degrade the picture quality, less definition
    Is this just situational?

  13. lg sensors is weak.. posprocesing in auto mode is badd.. this is only good aplication camera but posprocess is weak , sensors as cheap… this is reason why this phones price degrades so fast

  14. I have been loyal the lg v series. I had the v10 for 3 years. Then the v20 for 2 years. Now I have the v40. I want the v60 when it comes out with the 2nd screen. I skipped v30 and v50 because I keep my phone at least 2 years… Max 3 years. Lg v series is underrated. Great pictures with the camera. Nice volume sound. Muaic feature. Etc

I loved the screen and frame of the v10. Wish it had that on the v40 but it's cool no big deal.

  15. How come I can not text or email a video without it downsizing the video and when I send it to the person it comes out all the store that you can't tell what it is how do I stop this cuz nobody seems to know what good is making a video with the phone if you can't send it to somebody without messing it up the only way I could send it without messing it up is through Messenger on Facebook if I text it email it it distorts it and you can't tell the video so again can someone tell me how I can send a video by text or email without it getting it distorted?????

  16. I can't believe i fully watch it till the end just because i have a hard time to take OnePlus 6, LG V40, Samsung S9, Samsung Note 8, but i am a Mobile Photography and Videography…It's hard… Totally best review

  17. How are these cameras better than the late V35?

I think the V35's dual 16mp camera sensors are stellar and LG's highest dual sensors.
