So… What? This was interesting to say the least. My expectations did not match reality. Come check out the speed test and real world performance of the iPhone XR vs. the Google Pixel 3a XL – both Google and Apples budget mid-range phones. The performance is kinda insane.

  1. The thing I learned about iPhones is that "slow and steady wins the race." My Pixel 2 XL launches apps faster and "feels" faster than my iPhone for basic apps like social media and stuff, but when it comes down to real world usage and app switching, the iPhone wins every time. The Pixel would have lag fits and just crack under pressure where the iPhone holds steady.

  2. Amazing video quality and production (love two videos in two days). Doing a camera test video I think would be awesome. also Pixel for life 😉

  3. Great vid Dop. I love what the Pixel 3a is doing, finally showing the US market something that the international market has known for quite some time, mid tier phones are pretty darn good. May be the Pixel 3a will show people that a mid tier phone is as snappy at every day tasks as a $1000 flagship. I hope it also highlights that a great deal of consumers are paying for specs and processing power that they will never use. Sure the higher speced phones can export 4K at 60fps videos but how many “average consumers” are performing these types of tasks. If we would purchase a phone based on our use case and the power we need for our purposes people would be shocked at the price point at which they should be buying phones. How many of us are over paying for specs we’ll never use.

  4. Cool vid!! Might persuade me into getting this rather than the Pixel 3 XL. Save some money and get a great phone in the process. Sounds like a win-win to me.

  5. Thanks for this! I heard on another video and comments that there is annoying lag when typing on the native G-board. Like it can't keep up with fast typing. Have you experienced anything like that?
