There is a lot of misinformation going around for the Galaxy Note 3. First, it does not charge faster. As a matter of fact, it may charge slower than charging with the USB 2.0 cable on a computer. But the tip today is how to enable USB 3.0 on the Galaxy Note 3. It is not simple as just connecting the cable. You have to enable it each time through the notification panel. But as you can see, the file transfer does happen 2x faster.

  1. I have two USB 3.0 ports on my laptop, yet plugging my Note 3 into them doesn't give me the option to switch to it in the phones drop down menu… any ideas why?

  2. I tried transferring around 30gb files to my SDcard via usb 3.0 and the speed is ok, but then it is NOT charging my note 3 🙁 I can see my phone's battery depleting as the transfer goes :

  3. This is an 'old' video so I'm sure someone pointed this out, but USB 3 DOES charge your phone faster… just not through the charger itself. You're comparing (I assume) the Note 2's charger to the 3's, and their Amp rating is the same: 2A. So yeah, if you use those chargers, it won't matter if you're using USB 3 or the usual Micro USB cable. HOWEVER, use an USB 3 port in your computer and it will charge faster as it supports up to 700mA output VS 500mA of USB 2. So there you go.

  4. NOT true at all the pins are the same. I work with network equipment and I'm also an electrician. It's not about the pins it's about the wire size that is used to transfer data. Communication equipment and cable falls on the same place as electricity. The larger the wire the more amps you can push thru it. So with that said the larger wire that's In the usb 3.0 allows for faster transfer rates. So go back and correct your video because you are wrong. It takes any where from 30 to 45 miss depending on what I'm running on my GN3 to get a full charge.

  5. by the way, for those of you saying you don't see that option are you SURE you are plugging in to a USB 3 port on your PC? look at the jack. if it's not blue on your pc inside the female connector, it is not a USB 3 port. mots PC's that run USB 3 still have USB 2 ports, so you have to make sure you're plugging it into the right port.

  6. I couldn't get this to work and I wanted to share with everyone. If you're not seeing the option for USB 3.0 in the menu like I was this can be frustrating. I kept trying and trying. Finally I tried the USB SS ports on the back of my computer. Out of 6 USB SS ports only one gave me the option to enable USB 3.0 on my Note 3. So if one port is not working try another until one works! No idea why some of my ports don't work on 3.0, possibly they are damaged..

  7. Can you show me where to locate my mtp media connection on the Note 3 w/o plugging the cable. I'm unable to process data transfer from my phone to pc or vice versa because when I plug in the data cable, it does not show the media mtp connection at the top of the phone. I don't know if turn on. Thanks

  8. Thank you… I always thought Note 3 is smart enough to detect usb 3.0, as the connection has a different pins inside the usb 3.0 connector.

  9. I used note 3 since last 2 years. But now days whenever I connect my mobile to computer my note 3 freeze & doesn't respond to any command. Or didn't show it on my computer.

  10. FUCK YOU FOR YOUR USELESS FKIN TUTORIAL YOU DONT EVEN FKIN SHOW US WHERE TO SEE THAT 3.0 OPTION THAT YOU GOT CUZ IT DOESNT SHOW IN OUR PHONE…..YOU FKIN USELESS FK PIECE OF SHT
