  1. Does this new connection still allow the S5 screen to be mirrored to an HDMI monitor? I love that ability in my galaxy s 2, to be able to throw my phone's screen up on a large HDMI display and I've gotten spoiled on that. Thank you.

  2. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CLARIFYING THAT! My friends never explain that the Note 3 uses so much space for video, and needs a 3.0 to be transferred faster. GREAT VIDEO

  3. I've got a 3.0 cable (genuine) that I got with my note 3. I also recently got a zerolemon extended battery which is x3 of a normal battery. It said that I needed to charge at least 12hrs and yet 3 hours after using this cable it was fully charged. So basically that is a full charge of one hour from 0-100% per battery.

It is fast, and until they can make phones that can last longer this is the next best thing.

  4. Love the backward compatibility Samsung built into the socket. Since my computer doesn't benefit from USB 3.0 I can keep my old 2.0 cables for normal use.

Now try and plug a IPhone 5 or 6 cable into an iPhone 4 or below…

  5. Excellent review. Any chance you could possibly make one that's more in depth and explains how to use all of the different functions? There are a few on YouTube but none of them are detailed enough and leave gaps. I've only just got mine and am totally loving it.

  6. The least they could've done was kept the micro usb port DEAD CENTER so those of us that bought charging cradles could utilize them, but nope, renders most, if not all drop-in center chargers useless. Thanks Samsung.

  7. Surprisingly, there is nothing on the extra pins if you open and see. The USB 2.0 charger can also charge my Note3. hmm increases data transfer speed? not sure of that.

  8. Thanks Inam Gafoor, this video has solved my charging problem of note 3. Thanks a l…………….o……..t.

    Great video ! Thumbs up!

  9. Oh my gosh this video is so helpful; I've been using the micro USB cable the whole time and didn't know why there was extra room where the cable goes. Thank you so much!!

  10. I've tested it with a USB meter. With the OEM Samsung charger, and OEM Samsung USB 2.0 and 3.0 cables, it will draw 1.76a at 5.44 watts.
The OEM Samsung charger can actually put out 2.4a steadily from my testing. It gets very warm and I'm not sure how long it will do that, but the charger can put out more than any of these phones can draw, and the USB 2.0 cable is perfectly fine for maximum charging speeds.

Also, these Galaxy phones cut back their charging draw when you have the screen on.

My S4 draws 1.10a with screen on.
S5 draws 1.17-1.18a with screen on, 1.76a with screen off.

  11. I had to sign in to tell you this:

Human beings are busy, time is money…. I appreciate your rapid entrance into the issue and rapid discussion. Bing, bam, boom, Done… Issue solved. Solution administered.

    Keep up the good work
    Cheers.

  12. technically i THINK WHEN YOU SAY ITS NO LONGER A MICRO usb2 ITS A MICRO usb3… WELL ACTUALLY ITS BOTH. pLUS IN usb2 AND ITS BEHAVES AS usb 2… pLUG IN usb3 AND YOU GET THE FASTER SPEEDS AND FASTER CHARGE RATE DEPENDING ON WHAT YOUR USB HUB GIVES OUT OR YOU SPECIALIST USB3 CHARGER. SO ITS REALLY THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS…AND WORKS ON A MAC AND ON EVERYTHING UNLIKE APPLE PHONES WHICH HAVE THUNDERPORT WHICH IS LIKE, YEAH WHATEVER…ERRRM…FAIL. HEHE

  13. do the 3.0 charging port still works alone in charging and transferring data.? coz my s5 charging port is broken the 2.0 port. I only use 2.0 charging usb cable so i wonder if the 3.0 charging port (smaller one) will work coz im planning to buy a s5 3.0 usb cable
